The Vancouver Canucks have been given a major opportunity today by the Nashville Predators as they have paced former 1st-round pick Kiefer Bellows on waivers

After all the huge offseason acquisitions made by the Nashville Predators, landing the likes of Steven Stamkos and Jonathan Marchessault, no one would have ever thought that the season would go this way.
The team have struggled on both ends of the ice, with their offense ranking in the bottom three in the league in goals scored, and now, it appears as though they're ready to part ways with a former top draft pick.- Tom Banks

Now, they have made another decision to sell off some of their players by placing a former 1st-round pick on waivers.

Should the Vancouver Canucks claim Kiefer Bellows of waivers if given the chance?

As the Vancouver Canucks are currently in a do or die situation as they take on the New York Islanders on Wednesday night, Patrik Allvin will be making as many moves as possible in order to make sure his roster is set for if they make the postseason.
With that in mind, the Nashville Predators decided to place former 2016 first-round pick of the New York Islanders on waivers today, making him availbe for basically free for any team looking for a depth forward with upside.
Waivers today:

#Smashville Marc Del Gaizo $775K

#Smashville Kieffer Bellows $775K
It is clear that being a top pick in the NHL draft does not guarantee you a bright future int he NHL by any means as Bellows has played in just 108 NHL games with the New York Islanders, Philadelphia Flyers and now Nashville since making his NHL debut back in 2019/20.
In some cases, players may be late bloomers and for Bellows at just At 26-years-old, if given he right opportunity and situation could be all it takes for him to fins his game a blossom into what he was scouted to be.
With such a low contract making league minimum (775K) and high upside, if given the chance in the waiver order, general manager Patrik Allvin and the Vancouver Canucks should 100% take a look and claiming him off waivers, especially if they are going to make a run for the last wild card spot in the west.
