While Quinn Hughes' career is still in its beginning stages, as he only has five full seasons under his belt, he could eventually be in the conversation for the Hockey Hall of Fame, a recent article from The Athletic says.
In a post on The Athletic this week, Peter Baugh and Eric Duhatschek looked at current players around the National Hockey League who could hear their names called to the Hockey Hall of Fame when their careers come to a close.
For their article, Baugh and Duhatschek broke it down into the following five tiers:
Tier 1 - They could retire today and make it.
Tier 2 - Right on the cusp.
 Tier 3 - Outside shots.
 Tier 4 - On track.
Tier 5 - Check back in a few years.
For Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes, he was placed in the fifth tier - 'Check back in a few years' and here's what Baugh and Duhatschek had to say about him.
Hughes, 24, is already in the conversation as one of the best defencemen in the history of the Vancouver Canucks and could cement himself as number one in a matter of a year or two. With 333 career points in 365 regular season games, Hughes sits second all-time in Vancouver Canucks franchise history on the defenceman points list. Hughes is only 77 points away from surpassing Alexander Edler for first place, which could happen well during the 2024-25 campaign.
The 2024-25 season will be a big one for Quinn Hughes. After putting up 92 points last year, he has his sights on becoming only the seventh defenceman in NHL history to reach 100 points, and it's going to be exciting to see if he'll be able to reach that mark.
