It's been quite a busy few days for the Vancouver Canucks and making roster moves, with with Thatcher Demko officially returning on Friday night, backing up Kevin Lankinen in their win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Patrik Allvin made another roster move this morning, assigning goaltender Arturs Silovs to the American Hockey League's Abbotsford Canucks.
With Arturs Silovs now down in the American Hockey League, Thatcher Demko recovered from his knee injury and Kevin Lankinen playing really well, Rick Tocchet has had a tough decision when it comes to Sunday's starter, but we now know who will be between the pipes.
When speaking with reporters ahead of Sunday's game, Rick Tocchet said that Finnish netminder Kevin Lankinen will get the start, with Thatcher Demko backing him up for a second consecutive day.
It's unclear as to why Thatcher Demko won't be getting the start today, but perhaps Rick Tocchet just wants to give him a little bit more time to get ready for game action, with Tuesday's game against the St. Louis Blues a strong possibility for his first start since Game 1 of their first round series in April against the Nashville Predators.
Lankinen has been lights out for the Vancouver Canucks this season, appearing in 19 games where he has a record of 13-3-3 along with a 2.62 goals against average, a .908 save percentage and two shutouts.
Puck drop for today's game is set for 1 pm PT and can be viewed nationally across Canada on Sportsnet.
