More misfortune strikes the Vancouver Canucks as defenseman Elias Pettersson was forced to exit the game after taking an unnecessary head shot from Calgary Flames forward Conor Zary.
Injuries and bad luck affect all NHL clubs around the league, it is a normal part of the grueling 82 game season, but there is no question about that the Vancouver Canucks have been one of the more unlucky teams in this department.
They have been without almost every big name on their roster including Brock Boeser, forward Elias Pettersson, Derek Forbort and most notably their captain and MVP Quinn Hughes just to name a few.
Now they are might be without another star after an incident on Wednesday.

Late in the first period in the highly anticipated matchup with the Calgary Flames, rookie defenseman Elias Pettersson has been stepping up to the plate, making bug plays and big hits, most notably on Flames forward Nazem Kadri.

Even though a hit as clean as it gets, Connor Zary took exception to it, retaliating immediately and delivering a cheap shot to Pettersson's head.

There will most probably be a hearing with the department of player safety for this unnecessary play.
the even crazier part, is that all 4 officials on the ice saw it and only called it as a 2-minute minor for interference
