Vancouver Canucks goaltender and fans favorite Thatcher Demko has had a tough go since coming back from his debilitating knee injury, but after shutting out the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday, he was really feeling the love from Canucks fans.

When Thatcher Demko came back from his knee injury, it was always questionable if he was going to get back to the caliber of play that fans have been used to seeing over the past 6 seasons, but there have been umors that he may not be in the headspace to even want to get back on top.
"I hear that [Demko] is not that excited to get into the net right now." MacLean said.

He added, "I'm even hearing Demko doesn't want to play [in Vancouver]."

Thatcher Demko's Emotional Response to Vancouver Canucks Fans

Despite the rumors of Demko potentially not wanting to stay with the Canucks, he contradicted that speculation with an incredible performance against the Colorado Avalanche.
The 29-year-old achieved his 1st shutout of the season on Tuesday in front of Canucks fans in Rogers Arena, making 25 saves and being named the 1st star of the game.
It wasn't a routine night in net either, Demko was forced to make countless highlight reel saves on grade-A scoring chances in order to secure the victory.
Canucks fans have been criticized to be a hard crowd to play in front of when underperforming, but have been praised to be some of the best when playing well, and they sure let Demko know how they felt after making some incredible saves.
THATCHER DEMKO TAKE A BOW
After being named the first star of the game, Canucks fans started cheering his name and giving him a standing ovation once again, which resulted in a emotional response from the netminder.
«Best fans in the world. I've been able to be here for 7 years now and it's always a pleasure out here playing in front of these guys."
The Vancouver Canucks have two more games until the go on break form the Inaugural 4-Nations Faceoff tournament, and hopefully a performance like this will send them off on a good note.
