Three Teams Named as Potential Landing Spots for Vancouver Canucks' Carson Soucy
While Carson Soucy has been made available by the Canucks, TSN's Pierre LeBrun is reporting that the blueliner wants to make things work in Vancouver, with one year remaining on his contract beyond the 2024-25 campaign.
"While Soucy is available for trade, sense is he wants to try and make it work still with Van.
Still, his camp and Canucks have talked about working together on a potential trade if that's the end result before March 7." LeBrun said.
With Soucy available, it's going to be interesting to see how many teams enter the mix to try and acquire his services ahead of the deadline on March 7th.
Soucy can play a top-four role and on the penalty kill for most teams, and would be a good player to have in the locker room for younger players to look up to during a Stanley Cup Playoff run.
Michael DeRosa of NHLTradeRumors.me took a look at three potential landing spots for Carson Soucy, with those teams being the Dallas Stars, Ottawa Senators and the Winnipeg Jets.
"The Jets are having an amazing season, as their 38-14-3 record shows. As marvelous as they have been, it is clear that they would benefit by adding another blueliner to their roster before the deadline passes, especially a left-shot one. Thus, Soucy could grab the attention of Winnipeg." DeRosa said about the Winnipeg Jets being a potential team in the mix for Soucy.
Between now and Friday, March 7th, there's going to be plenty of teams interested in trading for Carson Soucy, but one thing to keep in mind is that if Patrik Allvin doesn't get a return that he likes, he can always try again in the summer or at next year's deadline, given that the defenseman is under contract for 2025-26.
