Patrik Allvin said he'd like to add speed and a top-six forward to his core. Still very young, the Hurricanes' forward Martin Necas fits that bill and is looking for a team with him in a more prominent role.
The Renowned insider Darren Dreger updated on the sage and revealed that, without surprise, half the league had shown their interest. Per his intel, the Habs, Bruins and the Predators were in the race. Dreger also added that if a deal were to occur, the Canes would be looking to add a top-3 or top-4 defenceman, hopefully in a one-for-one trade:
With Filip Hronek's uncertain future with the Canucks, would it make sense for them to do that deal? Doing so would then take the Canucks back to their initial problem, a bolstered offence but no defenseman to play alongside Quinn Hughes.
Unless the Canucks already have a pending free agent in their sight, it would be hard for them to reach out for Necas. Nevertheless, Allvin is looking for a splash, which might be a trade of this importance.
Necas had 71 and 53 points over the last two seasons; he'd be an exciting addition to the Canucks top six. Do you believe parting ways with Filip Hronek is worth it to acquire the Canes' 12th overall pick from the 2017 draft?
