Vancouver's pursuit of a goaltender has been ongoing for quite some time now and they finally added one on Sunday night through a PTO with Dylan Ferguson, who spent the 2023-24 season in the KHL.
Kevin Lankinen, formerly of the Nashville Predators, has been on the Canucks' radar for a while, but according to Rick Dhaliwal of Donnie & Dhali, it appears that the team may have issued a low-ball offer to the Finnish netminder.
Recently, Dhaliwal shared that the Canucks offered Kevin Lankinen a contract for one-year that came in at under $1 million. However, Lankinen isn't interested in signing for under a million dollars at this time and will wait it out to see if any other offers come his way.
One way the Canucks could be able to offer Kevin Lankinen a contract over $1 million USD for the season is if they place Tucker Poolman on long-term injured reserve, a move that they may want to avoid for now according to President of Hockey Operations Jim Rutherford.
With the Canucks set to open training camp starting on Thursday, it's going to be interesting to see if Patrik Allvin has any more moves up his sleeve or if he'll stand pat with Dylan Ferguson being the lone addition between the pipes for training camp.
