Top 2 Trade Destinations For Vancouver Canucks Star Forward Elias Pettersson Revealed in Report

As it stands right now, Elias Pettersson is still out of the lineup as General Manager Patrik Allvin announced Elias Pettersson would be placed on the retroactive Injured Reserve (retroactive to Dec. 23, 2024).
Even with being out of the lineup and not have to answer questions about his rift with teammate J.T. Miller, the speculation and trade rumors have not slowed down in the slightest.
«Petey has shown up to this point that he is an extremely talented, quality player that could and should be a No. 1 centre. I believe in him. I believe that he's capable. (But) he needs to mature and understand that there are certain expectations and it does not get easier. And you need to face the music when things don't go well.
Allvin (smiling): «Well, you know Jim's history. Is it (a trade) possible? I guess I would say anything is possible.»
Best Trade Destinations for Elias Pettersson
Despite his down year and massive contract, there are an endless amount of NHL Clubs lining up to acquire Pettersson, but what destination make sense?
The most obvious suitor would be that of the Buffalo Sabres, the two teams have been linked many times in trade rumors over the last several weeks.
The Vancouver Canucks are looking for a young forward and a top-4 defenseman that can slide in and help
Quinn Hughes and
Filip Hronek distribute the puck, especially now that they are out with respective injuries.
It is very apparent with the latest moves of Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman is showing desperation as his "Yzerplan" is not going to according to plan.
Pettersson would obviously be a good fit anywhere, but with the Red Wings being on the outside looking in at a playoff spot, they may be willing to give up more than usual.
The only player that would make sense would be
Moritz Seider, who after winning the Calder Trophy for the leagues best rookie, has really turned into an elite 2-way d-man.
It has to be noted that this is all pure speculation, but with the drama intensifying, trade could be coming, and the Canucks will have to secure a major return for either Pettersson or Miller.
