The Vancouver Canucks have started their road trip with a victory and now, they're set to get a potential offensive boost to the lineup following today's roster move.
It was a great start to the road trip for the Vancouver Canucks on Monday night as they took down the St. Louis Blues by a score of 5-2 thanks to a pair of goals from Conor Garland and a Gordie Howe hat trick from J.T. Miller.
Vancouver is set to skate today in Nashville ahead of their game on Wednesday night against the Predators and with the team looking for a bit of an offensive boost in the bottom-six, Patrik Allvin has made a roster move.
Patrik Allvin announces roster move following big win against St. Louis Blues
"General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that F Aatu Räty has been recalled from Abbotsford (AHL)." the Canucks said.
Raty, 22, has been solid in the American Hockey League this season and is a point-per-player for the Abbotsford Canucks, reaching 100 career AHL points over the weekend.
In 23 games this season, the Oulu, Finland native has registered 23 points (eight goals, 13 assists), 24 penalty minutes and is a plus-two.
The most likely reason for Aatu Raty being called up on Tuesday morning is because of the injury to forward Kiefer Sherwood, who left last Thursday's game for undisclosed reasons and hasn't played since.
We'll have to wait and see tomorrow what the lineup will look like for Vancouver's game against the Nashville Predators, but it would be a wise decision by Rick Tocchet to play Aatu Raty.
Puck drop for tomorrow's game in Nashville is set for 6 pm PT and can be viewed on Sportsnet Pacific in the Vancouver region.
