Vancouver Canucks fans get to watch some of their best prospects continue to play as all three of the Canucks' junior players will be moving on to the quarter finals of the World Junior Hockey championships.

Tom Willander

The most prolific of all the prospects is defenseman and Boston University player Tom Willander, who has been Team Sweden's powerplay quarterback, leading the entire team in ice time.

Through the preliminary tournament, the 19-year-old has been fun to watch, scoring 2 goals and three assists for five points in 4 games.

He now ranks 2nd in the tournament in total points for all d-men.

Due to the injury to Team Canada's best player and defenseman Matthew Schaefer, Sawyer Mynio got his chance to slot into the starting lineup.

Unfortunately, in the always highly anticipated game New Years Eve game between USA and Canada, Canada took 8 penalties in a the game and needed up losing 4-1.

It wasn't the best look for Mynio in his second appearance as he took a second period cross-checking penalty, leading to the eventual game winning goal.

Basile Sansonnens

The quietest of the Vancouver Canucks prospects playing in the World Junior Hockey Championship is Switzerlands 18-year-old defenseman Basile Sansonnens.

Sansonnenshas has taken on a smaller role for The Swiss, playing just over 12-minutes of ice time in the last game of the preliminary round, and as a whole has yet to register a point, achieving just two shots and a minus-2 rating through 4 games.

Switzerland will take the tournaments top dog in the quarter finals against Team USA.

The Vancouver Canucks will be wishing all of their future stars good luck in the next round!
