Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes was recognized for his great season on Wednesday and nearly swept the team awards for the 2024-25 campaign.

The Vancouver Canucks didn't have the season they were hoping for when they began their schedule back in October, but due to a number of factors including injuries to key players, they missed out on the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the fourth time in the last five years.
One bright spot on the Vancouver Canucks this year was the play of captain Quinn Hughes, who dealt with injury issues of his own but was able to record his third straight 75+ point season.

Quinn Hughes takes home 6 team awards on Wednesday night

As they do at the final home game of each season, the Vancouver Canucks announced the recipients for their annual team awards, which includes the Cyclone Taylor Trophy for MVP.
Of the seven awards handed out last night, captain Quinn Hughes took home a whopping six, with the only one he didn't win being the Fred J. Hume Award for unsung hero.
That award went to forward Kiefer Sherwood, after he broke the NHL hits record last month and finished the year with new career highs in goals, assists and points.
As for the ones Quinn Hughes did win, those were the Cyclone Taylor Trophy - "Most Valuable Player", Walter (Babe) Pratt Trophy - "Best Defenceman", Pavel Bure Award - "Most Exciting Player", Cyrus H. McLean Trophy - "Leading Scorer", Three Stars Award, and the Daniel & Henrik Sedin Community Award.
"From his leadership and on-ice brilliance to his impact off the ice, there's no one quite like our Captain.

According to the Canucks, Quinn Hughes is the first defenseman in team history to take home the Pavel Bure Award, the Cyclone Taylor Award, the Cyrus H. McLean Trophy and the Three Stars Award.
"Quinn Hughes had another outstanding year, as he won six of the seven Team Awards. This season was the six consecutive campaign that Hughes was voted the winner of the Walter (Babe) Pratt Trophy as the team's Best Defenceman. Hughes also became the first defenceman in franchise history to win the Cyrus H. McLean Trophy, the Pavel Bure Award, the Cyclone Taylor Trophy, and the Three Stars Award." the Canucks said.

Hughes, a native of Orlando, Florida, registered 76 points (16 goals, 60 assists), 29 penalty minutes and was a plus-two in 68 games this season.
