A member of the Hockey Hall of Fame had some praise over the weekend on social media for Vancouver Canucks forward Kiefer Sherwood.

When the Vancouver Canucks signed free agent forward Kiefer Sherwood on Canada Day last year, many were curious what he would bring to the organization and where Rick Tocchet would slot him into the lineup.
It's safe to say that Sherwood has exceeded everyone's expectations this season, especially after breaking the NHL hits record a little over a week ago.

Hockey Hall of Famer has praise for Vancouver Canucks' Kiefer Sherwood

Sherwood's physical play this season has drawn the attention of many players and analysts around the National Hockey League, but now a Hall of Famer has weighed in on the impact the forward has made in Vancouver.
In a social media post on Sunday afternoon, former second overall pick and Hockey Hall of Fame defenseman Chris Pronger was full of praise for Kiefer Sherwood, as well as the Vancouver Canucks' front office for not only signing him, but getting it done for cheap.
"What a pick up Kiefer Sherwood has been for the #Canucks this year. Best bang for the buck! Pun intended." Pronger said on X.
If there's anyone who knows about throwing a hit or two during his career, that would be Chris Pronger, who was a mean defenseman to play against and punished opponents with his physical play during his 18 years in the National Hockey League.
During yesterday's loss to the Winnipeg Jets, Sherwood picked up his second straight 10-hit game and his fourth in the last six games to bring his season total to 424 hits.
Sherwood's 424 hits this season have him in first in the National Hockey League by a wide margin, 124 more Will Cuylle of the New York Rangers, who occupies the second spot.
The Columbus, Ohio native has one year remaining on his contract with Vancouver following the 2024-25 season and is eligible to sign an extension as of July 1st.
Given what he's brought to the organization from both a physical and offensive standpoint, it wouldn't be a surprise if Patrik Allvin attempted to get an extension done with Kiefer Sherwood and his camp this summer.
