Vancouver Canucks forward Kiefer Sherwood has a pretty big opportunity tonight to tie a National Hockey League record against the St. Louis Blues.

Of all the moves Patrik Allvin made on July 1st, 2024, the signing of Kiefer Sherwood is looking like one the best decisions he made as the especially after breaking a franchise record in early February and he's been a great fit for the team's bottom-six forward group.
With the Vancouver Canucks' single season hit record now belonging to Kiefer Sherwood, the 29-year-old has his sights set on the National Hockey League's record.

Kiefer Sherwood could tie NHL record vs St. Louis Blues tonight

The Vancouver Canucks are set to open up a six-game road trip tonight in St. Louis against the Blues and there's a good chance that Kiefer Sherwood has a shot at tying the current NHL record for hits in a single season.
Entering action on Thursday, Sherwood has 373 hits in 64 games and is ten hits back of his former teammate, Jeremy Lauzon, of the Nashville Predators who had 383 in 79 games last season.
To tie his former teammate's NHL record tonight against St. Louis, Kiefer Sherwood would need to register ten hits, something he's done on six occasions this season, including a 12-hit game against the Chicago Blackhawks back on October 22nd.
However in his last 15 games for the Vancouver Canucks, Kiefer Sherwood's highest single game hit total was nine on February 22nd against Vegas, along with a pair of eight-hit games, most recently coming on March 11th as they took on the Montreal Canadiens.
Sherwood is motivated to make this National Hockey League record his own and if he doesn't reach it tonight, that's okay because there are plenty of opportunities to tie and break it while the Canucks are on their road trip, with a chance that it could come during Saturday's tilt against J.T. Miller and the New York Rangers.
