Vancouver Canucks Head Coach Rick Tocchet Breaks Silence on Relationship with J.T. Miller
After it was announced today that superstar forward J.T. Miller would be stepping away from the Vancouver Canucks indefinitely for personal reasons, head coach Rick Tocchet addressed the media to talk about their relationship and what it will be like to be with out him.
With out J.T. Miller and Brock Boeser for the foreseeable future, Rick Tocchet is now in a tight spot, and needs players with smaller roles to step up and change their mentality.
He told the media today that he wants every single player to give at least 10% more effort and drive in order to fill the holes left by Miller.
"I'd like to see five or 10% [more] from other players tonight. Everybody can supply it," Tocchet said. "You're getting 100% effort, but what I'm saying is everybody gives five to 10% [more]. That's how you make up for in the short term."

With the Vancouver Canucks firmly standing behind the reasons for Miller stepping away, speculation has mounted that there might be an issue with the relationship between Tocchet and Miller.
Tocchet spoke to the media after morning skate today to double down and say the benching last night had nothing to do with the announcement released today.
When asked about his relationship with Miller? He gave a pretty blunt answer saying you need to ask him (Miller) that question, but overall he thinks there are no issues.
Tocchet responds by saying "I would ask him" but Tocchet thinks it's great.
Nonetheless, it is all speculation at this point, but the answer by Tocchet leaves many to think that their might be issues between him and the head coach.
