An NHL insider has shared an update on Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser, who hasn't played since November 7th against the Los Angeles Kings.

The Vancouver Canucks have been without the services of forward Brock Boeser for nearly two weeks now and since then, there's been a big hole in the team's top-six forward group that's hard to fill, given what he brings to the lineup.

During their game on Thursday, November 7th in Los Angeles, Brock Boeser was hit in the head by Kings forward Tanner Jeannot. Jeannot was given a match penalty by the officials and ejected from the game. The next day, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety handed Tanner Jeannot a three-game suspension for his hit on Brock Boeser.

There hasn't been much of an update on Brock Boeser since he left that game on November 7th, with Rick Tocchet saying nearly a week ago that it's a 'day-to-day thing' and they're hoping he's getting 3-4% better each day.

Darren Dreger gives update on Vancouver's Brock Boeser

During an appearance on Sekeres and Price this week, TSN insider Darren Dreger spoke about Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser and gave a bit of an update on the 27-year-old.

"Brock Boeser is not with the team, but that's not to say he isn't making improvements from that, you know, reckless hit by Jeannot. But the face that he's not with the team tells you that he's still a ways away, but he is working out and he is trying to improve. But I do get the sense that this is going to be baby steps for Brock Boeser and it's difficult one to pinpoint on exactly what that timeline looks like." Dreger said.

Prior to being injured, Brock Boeser was having a great start to the 2024-25 season and he was proving to everyone that last year's 40-goal campaign was not a fluke. In 12 games, the Burnsville, Minnesota native has 11 points (six goals, five assists), six penalty minutes and an even-rating.

While there's still no timeline for Brock Boeser's return to game action or even practice, Vancouver Canucks fans are hoping that the forward will be back in the lineup by at least Christmas, if not sooner.
