Buckle up Vancouver Canucks fans because it appears that tomorrow night, Rick Tocchet will be getting a major offensive weapon back in the lineup as they face the Bruins.
After missing the last seven games with a suspected upper-body injury which he sustained on November 7th following a hit the head by Los Angeles' Tanner Jeannot, Brock Boeser took a big step on Monday towards a return to game action.
As the Vancouver Canucks took to the ice for practice at Agganis Arena, home of the NCAA's Boston University, Dan Murphy of Sportsnet pointed out the Brock Boeser is no longer wearing a no-contact sweater.
Boeser returned to practice with the main group on Friday in Ottawa and has progressed in the last few days to the point where he's allowed to take contact.
At the time of writing this, there hasn't been any confirmation from Vancouver Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet that Boeser will return tomorrow, but Sportsnet's Dan Murphy says that it appears he is ready to go.
Having Brock Boeser back in the lineup will be huge for the Canucks' offense as they've averaged just over three goals a game in their last seven without the Burnsville, Minnesota native.
Prior to his injury, Boeser was off to a solid start to the 2024-25 campaign, registering 11 points (six goals, five assists), six penalty minutes and had an even-rating in 12 games.
Boeser looks like he could be well on his way to another 30+ goal season, potentially back-to-back 40-goal campaigns if he's able to get in the groove of things right out of the gate in his return.
Puck drop for tomorrow night's game against the Boston Bruins is set for 4 pm PT and can be viewed across Canada on Sportsnet.
