The Canadian Hockey League held their annual Import Draft on Wednesday morning. For those who are familiar, the Import Draft allows all 60 CHL teams a chance to select two European players for their roster, which is the maximum allowed.

With the 34th pick, the Ontario Hockey League's Guelph Storm selected Vancouver Canucks prospect Vilmer Alriksson.

"With the 34th Overall Selection in the 2023 CHL Import Draft, the Guelph Storm are proud to select Vilmer Alriksson from the Djurgardens IF Jr. team.

Welcome to Storm City🌪" The Storm said in a tweet.

Alriksson, 18, is a 6'6" left winger from Sweden who the Canucks drafted with the 107th overall pick last Thursday in the fourth round. He spent the 2022-23 season in the Swedish junior league, appearing in 43 games for Djurgardens Jr., putting up 21 points (12 goals, nine assists), 22 penalty minutes and was a plus-one.

It's unclear at this time if Alriksson will remain in Sweden next season or if he'll commit to the Guelph Storm and suit up with them for the 2023-24 campaign. Expect a decision to be made on that front in the coming week.
