During an MHL game on Friday between SKA-1946 and Mikhailov Academy, one of the top prospects for next summer's NHL Entry Draft suffered a significant injury that will cause him to miss some time.

SKA-1946 forward Ivan Demidov took the puck at his own blue line and skated all the way down into the opposing team's end. When Demidov splits the Mikhailov Academy defence, he falls and hit his left knee into the post, which left him in a lot of pain. Demidov needed to be helped back to the bench by his teammates, but eventually was able to skate under his own power the rest of the way.

On Sunday, it was revealed that Ivan Demidov will miss upwards of ten weeks with a knee injury, which is not good news at all for the 17-year-old who's battling to become a top-three pick next June.

Demidov is currently expected to go in the top-five when NHL teams take the podium next summer, likely in Vegas. The Sergiyev Posad, Russia native is no doubt the top eligible prospect from his country, but will be in tough trying to go first overall due to Cole Eiserman and Macklin Celebrini.
