During the intermission former Canuck Kevin Bieksa said to Celebrini that after he's drafted he won't be able to go to games and chant 'Go Canucks Go' anymore, as he was seen doing at a playoff game this year alongside his brother, Aiden, who is a Vancouver prospect.
Celebrini told Bieksa that he had an opportunity to join in on one final 'Go Canucks Go' chant during that playoff game last month and ran with it.
The Vancouver native has been on the radar of many in the scouting community for a few years now and barring any crazy draft day trades, he'll be heading to Northern California to play for the San Jose Sharks. Celebrini is very familiar with NorCal as his father, Rick, is the Vice President of Player Health and Performance for the NBA's Golden State Warriors.
Celebrini, 17, appeared in 38 games with Boston University this season where he had 64 points (32 goals, 32 assists), 18 penalty minutes and was a plus-25. At the end of the season, he became the youngest player ever to win the Hobey Baker Award.
It's going to be interesting to see what Celebrini decides to do this summer, whether he returns to Boston University for another season or joins the Sharks right away. No matter what he decides to do, whenever he returns to Vancouver for the first time and plays at Rogers Arena, it's going to be a very special moment for himself and his family.
