The Canucks served a lesson to the Oilers at the Rogers Arena, but they lost essential soldiers along the way. As the fans noticed, Thatcher Demko left the game midway through the third period. The team's physician followed him right through the tunnel, and he had not yet found his way back to the team's bench:

''Canucks team physician followed Demko into the locker room''

Similarly, Conor Garland left the bench for the team's dressing room without looking back.

''Uh oh. Thatcher Demko to the dressing room at 8:14 of the 3rd period with the #Canucks up 7-1. Casey DeSmith is now in goal against the #LetsGoOilers. Could a happy night be spoiled, or was it somehow planned? Conor Garland has also gone to the dressing room. Trade? Wild, wacky stuff''

''Conor Garland just three shifts in 3rd. None after the six-minute mark. Not out for PP2 shift''

Hopefully, it's nothing too serious; as noted before the game, the flu has passed through the players, so it may be a simple case of dehydration.

We'll wait for the team's official statement before giving an update.
