BREAKING | Canucks extend one of their defensemen
The Canucks have been using lots of their depths on the defensive front this year mainly due to injuries. They have used nothing less than 11 defensemen since the season started.
Today, Patrik Allvin announced that they had given Guillaume Brisebois a 2-year extension starting on July 1st, 2023. Brisebois has a two-way deal for the upcoming season, but for the second year of his deal, it will shift into a one-way deal.
In the full press release, Allvin stated he was happy to bring him back for a couple more years and praised the development Jeremy Colliton had been providing with the team's prospects. Allvin expects Brisebois to make a strong push for a roster spot when starting camp kicks in next year.
The Longueuil, QC native managed an assist through 9 games in the NHL this season. Brisebois was originally drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the third round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
