BREAKING: New information regarding Demko's possible return
Early in December against the Panthers, Demko suffered a lower-body injury according to the MRI's that were taken the following day. It was expected that Demko would be out for 6 weeks.
That 6 weeks timeline would come to an end right about the middle of January and now it seems like his recovery will go past that. Bruce Boudreau was asked about his netminder's current injury status:
"No, I mean I'm hoping it's within the next month, it may sound silly but I'm hoping it's in January. I mean but you never know, we have a big break coming. I was asking a bit this morning but I wasn't getting the answers I wanted so I don't know.''
Now there's absolutely no good news there, the goaltending situation in Vancouver's been the center of discussion for quite a while, and Demko being out longer than expected will certainly not help. Even though he's had a rough start (the team did too), we've all seen what a 100% healthy Demko can do and if the Canucks want to make it to the playoffs, they need that kind of performance.
Were the Canucks realistic when they announced a 6 weeks timeline?
