WOW: Controversial call against Canada at WJC
The Annual World Junior Championship is just getting started in Halifax and Moncton today and the referees are already making the news.
Zach Dean, a Golden Knights prospect, was chasing the puck down the Czech's zone when he laid a hit on a Czech defenceman. The referee in charge awarded Dean a game-misconduct after review. The game summary states an illegal hit to the head.
It's no news that the IIHF has really strict standards when it comes to hitting and fighting, but was that overboard? Was this even worth a penalty to begin with?
