The Canucks traded their captain when they shipped Bo Horvat off to the Islanders and have managed with three assistants since then.

Lots of talks have emerged since then and the leaders have stepped up. From J.T. Miller, to Elias Pettersson, to Quinn Hughes every player has taken the next step into their leadership role.

Bruce Boudreau, the Canucks' former coach, openly stated who he viewed taking captainship moving forward.:

«Pettersson is already the team's on-ice leader, and now wears an A on his jersey. Boudreau believes he'll one day wear a C, as the Canucks' future captain.»

Boudreau is, without a doubt, very fond of Elias Pettersson. Tocchet also voiced his opinions on the matter:

«You've got to empower your leadership group,I thought Quinn Hughes' leadership has been through the roof the last six weeks. He's vocal Petey's been very vocal, coming in the [coaches] office, you know, talking. I love that stuff. It's their room, it's not mine.»

Per Allvin's previous statement and Tocchet's most recent it seems as if Pettersson and Hughes are in the running for captainship. If it were your call, who gets the C' when the 2023-2024 season kicks in?
