Tocchet reveals an action the leaders took regarding McDonough's arrival and it says a lot
On Monday, the Canucks announced the signing of their top NCAA Prospect Aidan McDonough. He joined the team this week on their trip to Arizona and he's been with the team ever since.
As a young player coming out of the NCAA, a lot of changes are occurring in his surroundings and there will definitely be an adjustment period for the 23-year-old. Tocchet came up to the media and revealed that the team's leadership group made a very important gesture toward the new-comer and it definitely sets the tone for the future:
«Leadership group took him out for dinner, which was really nice he's got a good shot, we'll work a bit in practice the next few days to get him up to speed on our system»
Tocchet advanced that the leadership group took the young man to dinner to help him settle into his new role. The switch from College to the Pros surely isn't as easy as it seems and Quinn Hughes surely is one to know that since he came up from the NCAA not too long ago.
Tocchet has noted a few things about the young man's playing abilities. At this point, everyone is well aware that McDonough had developed quite the scoring touch in his time in College. With the team's lackluster game in Arizona yesterday, if he gets up to speed on the team's system, we could potentially see him get his first opportunity as a Canucks in tomorrow's game against the Kings.
