CONFIRMED | Canucks lose their rights to two prospects
It was reported earlier that the Canucks had until today at 5 PM to sign rights to 2 of their prospects. It was reported the Canucks had chosen not to sign them, today confirmed it, and they surrendered their rights to these players, who'll be free to add to all other 31 teams.
Connor Lockhart, whose currently playing at the Memorial Cup with the Peterborough Petes, was a 6th-round selection in 2021. He collected 79 points in 66 outings this season as a 20-year-old.
Arvid Costmar, 7th Round Pick in 2019, is a prospect whose progression stopped the moment he stepped into Sweden's professional levels.
The Canucks could be hitting the market with unsigned prospects, they acquired Filip Johansson using this strategy, and so far, it's paying off.
The Canucks will look to add more prospects to their pool in the upcoming draft.
