The Vancouver Canucks are set to begin a five-game road trip against the Vegas Golden Knights tonight and Rick Tocchet has given an update on the status of Quinn Hughes and Elias Pettersson.

On Friday, the Vancouver Canucks hit the ice in Vegas to prepare for their game against the Golden Knights and both Quinn Hughes and Elias Pettersson left the skate early, causing some concern and afterwards, Rick Tocchet shared an update on their status for Saturday's tilt.

Rick Tocchet gives injury update on Quinn Hughes & Elias Pettersson

After practice, Rick Tocchet met with the media where he confirmed that Quinn Hughes will not play on Saturday night against the Vegas Golden Knights.
Quinn Hughes hasn't played since January 31st against the Dallas Stars when he suffered a suspected oblique injury, which forced him to withdraw from the 4 Nations Face-Off.
The 25-year-old is having another solid season for the Canucks, registering 59 points (14 goals, 45 assists), 27 penalty minutes and is a plus-15 in 47 games.
As for Elias Pettersson, who was seen icing his knee in the 4 Nations Face-Off documentary on Sportsnet this week, Tocchet says that his status is day-to-day due to an injury from the tournament, according to Iain MacIntyre.
In 49 games this season, Pettersson has put up 34 points (11 goals, 23 assists), 12 penalty minutes and is a minus-three.
"Per Canucks coach Rick Tocchet, C Elias Pettersson's status is day-to-day w injury from 4 Nations, and it doesn't appear Quinn Hughes will be ready to play SAT vs VGK. Both Pettersson and Hughes left the ice shortly after today's practice began." MacIntyre said.
We'll have to wait and see once Rick Tocchet speaks following the morning for sure whether or not Elias Pettersson is able to play on Saturday night, but if he isn't able to go, fellow Swede Nils Aman will more than likely draw into the lineup after being called up back on Tuesday.
Puck drop for tonight's game between the Vancouver Canucks and Vegas Golden Knights is set for 7 pm PT and can be viewed nationally on CBC and Sportsnet as part of Hockey Night in Canada.
