HEARTBREAKING | Story breaks out about Nils Hoglander and it explains his level of commitment
It's been a tough year for Nils Hoglander. While most expected a breakout season for the Canucks' 2019 2nd Round pick, things certainly didn't go as planned.
Hoglander took a trip down to Abbotsford and he's been remarkable. Not only has he been great but his level of commitment has been off the charts. The winger has shown the true nature of his ability and he's been absolutely dominant on both ends of the ice. He cumulated 32 points in 45 games through the regular season and is now already up to 4 points in only playoff goal, including this tiebreaker he scored last night:
A story about Hoglander's youth just broke out, about the relationship he had with his sister who passed when the young Swede was only 11:
''Nils Hoglander's last words to his dying 13-year-old sister were I will play hockey for the both of us! He was 11 at the time, he kept his promise, how can you not cheer for this guy.''
After a story like that, how can you not cheer for this guy? Obviously, this is an emotional quest for Hoglander and so far it's hard to think that he has not succeeded. While being sent down to the AHL may have been a setback, the forward's progression is undeniable and he'll definitely be coming back to Vancouver's training camp as a better player.
