He's been linked to the Canucks before today, in a trade where the team would move Brock Boeser the other way.

At this moment in time, the Canucks have won 7 of their last 10 games before playing the Sharks tonight and are only 2 points out of a playoff spot. If the trends keep goind and the offense scores more goal then Martin and Demko allow, would it be worth it to aim a playoff run?

It's been stated by many analysts in the Wild's atmosphere and Pierre Lebrun, that the pending UFA Matt Dumba could be on his way out of Minnesota. He's become expendable for the team since Calen Addison has made his entry at the beginning of the current season.

«And finally, if the Wild fall out of contention this season, pending UFA blueliner Matt Dumba most likely will be trade bait. He has a 10-team no-trade list. He might be part of trade discussions even if the Wild stay in the playoff race, as part of a hockey trade to augment the Minnesota roster.»

The Canucks are in desperate need for help on a right handed defenseman to play alongside Quinn Hughes and to take minutes off of Tyler Myers and Luke Schenn.

If they figured out a way to deal with the cap space, would acquiring Matt Dumba, whilst keeping Boeser, be a good enough upgrade for a playoff run?
