Kuzmenko's agent opens up about contract extension
Andrei Kuzmenko has been a true diamond since his arrival in Vancouver. Before entering the league, he signed a 1-year deal worth $950K
The russian winger has exceeded everyone's expectations and he has performed extremely well on the side of Elias Pettersson and Ilya Mikheyev. One thing that remains enigmatic is his contractual situation.
Dan Milstein is Kuzmenko's agent and was on the "Donnie and Dhalie show" this week, where he revealed some new information regarding the matter.
"We are not going to be talking about an extension of any kind until probably the end of the season or close to that time."
Insider Darren Dreger stated on the Sekeres and Price podcast:
"$4 million? That might be way on the low side of things...you're still dealing with a relatively small sample size. Does Kuzmenko need to take another shorter-term deal?"
It's still really early to tell what his next contract is going to be. Kuzmenko and his team will want to wait it out to try and get top value at the end of the season. The question that remains at the end of the day is how much is this season's performance going to be worth?
He will be eligible to sign a new contract on January 1st. What's the Canucks play from there?
