The Canucks use of depth this year has allowed the team to discover uncovered talent. It's definitely Phil Di Giussepe's case who came up from a dominant stint in Abbotsford and never looked back.

Patrik Allvin was asked in the year-end media availability if we'd get to see him back in Abbotsford for the Canucks' chase for the Calder Cup. The team's GM confirmed that they didn't risk losing him to waivers, but he also added great news about the winger:

' Patrik Allvin confirms that Phil Di Giuseppe will not join Abbotsford for the playoffs. He told us that PDG just had a child and that they also don't want to lose him on waivers.''

PDG recently signed a two-year extension worth $1.55M. Di Giussepe managed 32 points in 37 AHL games and added 12 in 30 up in the big leagues, while it's unlikely that he'll be on J.T. Miller and Brock Boeser's wing to start things off next year, will he be a permanent NHLer?
