It was a feisty affair in Tuesday night's match-up between the Edmonton Oilers and Detroit Red Wings from Little Caesars Arena.
The Oilers are already in a playoff spot while the Red Wings are still looking to grab a spot in the Atlantic Division. However, despite these two teams not playing each other often it oddly enough had some resemblance to a battle of Alberta game vs the Calgary Flames.
It had numerous scrums including a moment early in the 3rd period when, Red Wings forward
Tyler Bertuzzi would take his stick and cross check Oilers forward
Evander Kane's face.
This caused a major scrum with numerous players on both sides getting involved. Bertuzzi has earned a bad reputation for cheap shots. I wouldn't be surprised if the NHL Department of Player Safety hands down a fine and or suspension on the play.
Here's a extended piece of footage that had the entire scrum that occurred after.
Kane and the Oilers would get the last laugh picking up a 5-2 win taking the 2 points the Red Wings desperately needed.
