Vancouver Canucks prospect Jacob Truscott has received a massive honour from the University of Michigan ahead of the 2023-24 season.

On Thursday, the University of Michigan announced that Truscott will be their captain for the 2023-24 season, replacing Nolan Moyle who graduated this year. Truscott was apart of last season's leadership group as well, as an alternate captain.

Truscott, 21, was drafted by the Canucks with the 144th overall pick (fifth round) back in 2020 after putting up 11 points in 19 games with the US U-18 Team in the USHL.

The Port Huron native has spent the last three seasons with the University of Michigan, helping them win the Big Ten Championship in back-to-back years, earning themselves a spot in the 2022 and 2023 NCAA Frozen Four. In 89 games across three years with the Wolverines, Truscott has 38 points (seven goals, 31 assists), 51 penalty minutes and is a plus-42.

Congratulations to Jacob on this incredible accomplishment!
