REPORT | Canucks have reportedly made a decision regarding their 26-year-old restricted free agent
It appears that 26-year-old Travis Dermott's time with the Vancouver Canucks has come to an end.
According to CHEK TV's Rick Dhaliwal, the Canucks are not expected to issue a qualifying offer to the RFA defenceman, which will make Dermott an unrestricted free agent on Canada Day.
"Early word is it doesn't look likely that the Canucks are going to qualify Travis Dermott." Dhaliwal said.
Dermott, a native of Newmarket (Ontario), has been limited to only 28 games across parts of two seasons with the Canucks after being dealt to them by Toronto in March 2022. He started this past year on injured reserve and only went on to appear in 11 games during the season due to concussion issues.
In those 28 games for the Canucks since being acquired from the Maple Leafs, Dermott put up three points (two goals, one assist), two penalty minutes and was a plus-one.
