The 2023 NHL Draft is talked about as the best draft since the last generational talent in Connor McDavid. With Connor Bedard headlining this year's draft, everything points to it being the best draft since then, or still, could it be better?

The Canucks are actually tearing down their roster to build it up with new assets, they currently hold two picks in this year's first round* (one is conditional) and it could definitely shape the Canucks' future.

The Daily Faceoff released its top 40 mock draft picks and they have the Canucks making some interesting picks.

7 - Canucks pick Vancouver native and WHL standout Andrew Cristall. Currently playing with the Kelowna Rocket, he's having a heck of a season. He counts nothing less than 62 points in 36 games.

13 - Canucks opt for Russian defenseman Mikhaïl Gulyayev. Described as an offensive defenseman, he surely fits in well with today's game. Speedy and agile skater, fairly certain that he'd be a nice fit with the newly signed development coach Sergei Gonchar.

40 - Canucks select Beau Akey, the right-handed defenseman desperately needed in Vancouver. A good two-way d-man who currently plays in Barrie. He has nothing less counts 37 points in 45 games.

To me, the idea of acquiring a skilled forward like Cristall is definitely exciting. He has the ability to take over a game at any given point and he's shown it on multiple occasions this year in Kelowna. He'd definitely be a nice addition behind Elias Pettersson as the team's second-line centerman.

Do you want the Canucks to pick Cristall if he's still available at their rank?
