To say it's been a crazy last few weeks for the Vancouver Canucks would be an understatement. After having another miserable season, the Canucks Management would make head coach Bruce Boudreau the scapegoat, firing him and then hiring Rick Tocchet as his replacement.

Then just before the NHL All-Star weekend, they traded captain Bo Horvat to the New York Islanders for Anthony Beauvillier, prospect Aatu Raty and a top-12 protected first-round pick. The Canucks would get some good news today, as their number one man in net Thatcher Demko skated for the first time since December 1st dealing with a lower-body injury.

The 27-year-old was caught skating in Madison Square Garden ahead of the Rangers vs. Canucks game. Demko has been rumored to be unhappy in Vancouver, which is understandable with the direction the team is going. Demko hasn't had a good year, statistics wise with a 3-10-2 record, 3.93 goals against, and a .883 save percentage.

Demko hasn't played well this season, and neither has the team in front of him, which also has to be taken into consideration. Demko has three years remaining on his current contract that pays him $5 million dollars annually.
