The Canucks have decided to take the fast road to the rebuild and acquiring Filip Hronek was only the beginning.

They moved Horvat to the Islanders and since then, the centerman line in Vancouver is lacking and the Canucks are very well aware they need to adress the matter. Dan Milstein is renowned agent in the Hockey atmosphere and he notably represents Andrei Kuzmenko, Ilya Mikheyev, Danila Klimovich and the newly acquired Vitali Kravtsov.

Insider Rick Dhaliwal revealed today that from the information he gathered the Canucks would look into the possibility of bringing another one of Milstein's client on board. Ivan Barbashev who's just been traded to the Golden Knights and who will be hitting the free agency market in July 1st.

Barbashev is a strong two-way centerman that had a career-high 60 points last year with the Blues. Barbashev is also very familiar with the Canucks' right winger Conor Garland since they were big parts in the QMJHL Moncton Wildcats' success back in the early 2010s.

Barbashev would be an intriguing addition to the Canucks' roster and would certainly fill in nicely on Vancouver's middle 6. Adding a capable centerman that can manage both offensive and defensive missions would go a long way in their plans of making the playoffs as soon as next year.
