When you ask hockey fans what the most hated penalty in the game is, the resounding answer you'll get is 'puck-over-glass', and they're certainly correct.

There's been a lot of debate over the last several years if the NHL should completely get rid of the penalty, and while it's unlikely that'll happen, could we see a change that will allow teams to challenge a puck-over-glass call?

According to Scouting The Refs, Germany's top division, the DEL, is going to allow puck-over-glass penalties to be reviewed.

"German's DEL will allow officials to review puck-over-glass penalties starting this season. Should the NHL do the same?" They said in a post on X.

Back in March, general managers around the National Hockey League discussed the possibility to make changes to video review including for high sticking and puck-over-glass calls, but decided not to.

According to IcyData, during the 2022-23 regular season, there were 277 puck-over-glass calls that led to minor penalties. That number could have been lower if video reviews were allowed.

Do you think the National Hockey League should completely get rid of the puck-over-glass penalty in the future? Let us know your thoughts in the poll below.
