LATEST | Captain Hughes comments on the team's new direction: Promising statement for his future
The Canucks named Quinn Hughes as the newest bearer of the 'C' in Vancouver. It's now been some time since the Canucks made the announcement, mutiple analysts, former Canucks and others have give their takes on Hughes receiving the honours.
HUGHES FINALLY SPEAKS UP ABOUT THE FUTURE
The team's newest captain finally spoke up regarding his future and the future of the team. Clearly he sees his nomination as a huge step towards a brighter future in Vancouver and that's something to be excited about:
"I feel really confident, like there's stability and everyone knows what to expect."
HUGHES EXPLAINS WHAT IT MEANS TO PLAY IN VANCOUVER
One of the most passionate fanbases out there, Hughes is fully aware of the pressure that comes with being the captain in Vancouver. The Canucks' superstar gave his views on the market, how he felt and you can't say it's not looking good for the future:
"It's a blessing to play here. Some people may not want that pressure or whatnot but I know that the first game of the season, it's going to be packed up and people are going to be excited and that's what you want."
There had been multiple reports suggesting that Hughes wanted to reunite with his brother in New Jersey. That doesn't sound like a guy who wants out. Hughes is used to the spotlight and this opportunity will only make him shine more. The one question that persists, will he be able to lead this team into the playoffs?
