LATEST | Update on Ethan Bear's injury
While the Canadian team is celebrating their triumph in the gold-medal game. Ethan Bear was dealt a bad hand when a vicious hit late in the game against Finland had him shut down with two games remaining in the tourney.
Rick Dhaliwal gave an update earlier today on the Canucks' defenseman's status and no good news came out of it all:
''Sounds like an upper-body injury for Ethan Bear at the world hockey championships.
Did not play the last 2 games.
Will be re-evaluated when he gets back to Vancouver''
A similar occurrence happened last year in the organization when Oliver Ekman-Larsson played for the Swedes and got injured, we all know how that played out. Bear will be meeting with the Canucks' medical team once he's back on Canadian soil, hopefully, he gets better news and gets his preparation going for the upcoming season.
Bear will be a restricted free-agent on July 1st, even though he signaled his intentions of remaining with the franchise we're still eager to see the end of these extension talks.
