The Vancouver Canucks dropped a 5-4 game at home to the Vegas Golden Knights on Monday night, and defenseman Luke Schenn was not pleased afterwards.

Lots of the blame has been directed to head coach Bruce Boudreau; however, Schenn was adamant that it should be on the players, who are outworked too often.

As per Kevin Woodley of NHL.com:

'' That's nothing to do with systems or what the coaches are telling us. That comes down to battle and compete. We're getting out-muscled and out-battled in front of the net and in the blue paint. Everyone just needs to be better in front of [Demko]. That's where games are won and lost.''

Vegas head coach Bruce Cassidy noted the Canucks area of weakness and stated his team did a tremendous job at exploiting it.

Even though the score was close last night, the Golden Knights out-chanced the Canucks two-to-one at five-on-five and had a 70% share of the expected goals. The veteran Schenn believes it comes down to their work ethic. Is that really the case?
