VIDEO: Matthews avoids discipline after high hit

During the second period of Saturday night's game, Toronto Maple Leafs star Auston Matthews was penalized for a high hit on Buffalo Sabres forward Casey Mittelstadt.
While Mittelstadt was cutting across the neutral zone (with his head down), Matthews appears to catch him near or in the head with his shoulder. See below:
Matthews was given a two-minute minor for an illegal hit to the head on the play but didn't receive a hearing from the NHL's Department of Player Safety, which has come with some controversy among hockey fans.
