MAJOR DEVELOPMENT| The timeline for McDonough's arrival with the Canucks is set
Prospects whose development goes through the NCAA usually join their respective NHL organization once their collegiate career comes to an end.
Drafting an NCAA prospect gives you more time to have them signed as opposed to prospects coming from the WHL (CHL). Aidan McDonough, a highly regarded prospect, who the Canucks drafted in the 7th Round in 2019. Is just about to make that turn since the team he captained, the Northeastern University Husky, suffered a loss last night which put an end to their season.
McDonough has developed quite nicely and as stated in a previous article, has confirmed he'd be signing with the Canucks. Rick Dhaliwal advanced today that the team and the prospect would be announcing the contract agreement tomorrow.
The ongoing thought is that he'd be joining the Canucks in Vancouver, but we'll know more once he officially signs with the team. McDonough, a left-handed shot winger, with good size and a tremendous shot could potentially turn into a steal.
The Canucks did a good job of selling their plan for the future to the winger, only thing that remains to be seen at this point is whether or not they'll do a good job of developing him into the player they need him to be.
