MAJOR | Dakota Joshua about to live up to Rick Tocchet prediction: Career milestone in the books
From the moment Rick Tocchet came to the Canucks, he identified the big winger Dakota Joshua as the team's diamond in the rough. He even went as far as calling him a ''potential 20 goalscorer in the NHL''.
With the show he's been putting this year, it's fair to say that Tocchet knew what he was talking about from the get-go. He put the work in with him, and Joshua is now part of the NHL's best third line alongside Teddy Blueger and Conor Garland.
The big 81 picked up a slick feed from Nils Hoglander to score the game-winning goal in last night's tilt against the Coyotes. Joshua now counts 12 goals and ten assists on the season, which marks a career-high in goals and now puts him one short of his career-high in points (23 in 2022-2023)
Dakota Joshua came to the Canuck with a two-way deal at the beginning of the 2022-2023 season. A contract worth $1.65M will need an extension before he reaches full autonomy on July 1st. It's fair to say the 27-year-old will be getting an important pay raise.
