MAJOR | NHL makes an announcement involving Thatcher Demko: It's excellent news
Thatcher Demko's .919 save percentage and 2.47 GAA have him among the NHL league leaders, and the 28 Canucks netminder is in the thick of the race for Vezina.
NHL.com writers voted Demko as the midseason runner up for the Vezina trophy as the league's top goalie.
Demko will have his work cut out for him if he's to steal the Vezina from his countrymate Connor Hellebuyck who boasts a .925 and 2.19.
Cam Talbot, Sergei Bobrovsky and Jeremy Swayman all received votes from writers as well.
If Demko is nominated this season, it would be the first nomination of his career.
