The Arizona Coyotes General Manager Bill Armstrong is expected to be very busy from now heading into the NHL trade deadline and beyond as he continues the Coyotes rebuild. Armstrong has already made one move sending down forward Dylan Guenther to the Seattle Thunderbirds of the Western Hockey League.

The Coyotes drafted Guenther back in the 2019 NHL draft in the 1st round 9th overall., The 19-year-old posted 15 points six goals, nine assists in 33 games with the Coyotes as a rookie. The Coyotes Gm would mention the opportunity Guenther will have with the Thunderbirds saying:

"This is a tremendous opportunity for him to join a very good Seattle club, play top line minutes, and hopefully lead his team to a Memorial Cup."

- Bill Armstrong

This was a smart decision after Guenther got to be a part of Team Canada at the 2023 World Junior Hockey Championships helping lead Canada to the gold medal, Guenther now has a chance to win a Memorial with a Thunderbirds team that's picked at one of the odds on favorites to to win the prestigious tournament.

Guenther looks like he's going to be a top player for the Coyotes for years to come and the decision to let him go back to junior for a major playoff run will do wonders for his development.

Let's not forget that Guenther was drafted by the Coyotes with the pick they acquired from the Canucks for nothing less then Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Conor Garland.

If you were given the chance to do that trade again today, would you do it?
