MAJOR | Gary Bettman's salary leaked: It's causing an outrage amongst the fans
Gary Bettman has been the NHL Commissioner for the last 30 years. It goes without saying that he's made a little fortune over that span governing the sports' top league.
In a recent report, his salary was leaked, and it's been causing serious outrage ever since. It was revealed that Bettman has been making an annual $9.6M placing him amongst the top paid man in the sport. Bettman would carry a higher AAV than players in the likes of Sidney Crosby, Leon Draisaitl, Cale Makar and even more. Bettman makes a similar yearly account to the NBA's comissionner who runs a higher-profit league:
Bettman has been in the business for 30 years now and has cumulated over $166M from the NHL making it the largest fortune in NHL history. The idea that no player has made nearly as much is quite scandalous.
Up to this day, the players are still rendering 17% of their salary in escrow to balance the books. While the commissioner only fills his pocket more.
