Earlier today, the USPHL made a heartbreaking press release revealing the passing of a young prospect, Braydin Lewis.

The young man, only 19, a defenseman for the Metro Jets lost a hard-fought battle with cancer. Showing the strengths of a true warrior, the young man asked to play and very much did, even though he was still receiving treatments:

'It is with heavy hearts to share the news that our warrior, Braydin Lewis, lost his battle with cancer late last night with family by his side.

Lewey started with the Jets in 2020. The defenseman was a force to be reckoned with, was a fan favorite and beloved by everyone.''

The Metro Jets also added:

'After his diagnosis last summer, he was determined to return for his third season. Not only did he return, but played while undergoing treatment. Lewey's strength and willingness was an inspiration to the team and he showed up to support his teammates at every opportunity.''

The world of hockey mourns the passing of a great warrior, we wish to send our deepest condolences to his family, his loved ones, and his team.
