MAJOR | Insider has one of league's top netminder available in trade talks
The Flyers have just fired their GM of the last few years in Chuck Fletcher and proceeded to make Daniel Briere the interim.
One thing that stood out from Briere's speech when he took over was that he wasn't afraid of a rebuild. Having said that, Insider were all over the news and a crazy suggestion has broke out of it. Earlier today, Elliotte Friedman reported that the Flyers would make their netminder Carter Hart available for trade talks heading into this off-season.
Hart is only 24 and has not even entered his prime. He proved this year that he could handle the work and put up astonishing numbers while the Flyers were underperforming. He holds a $3.979M AAV until the end of 2024 and it is believed that he will break the bank then.
It was rumored that the asking price for Thatcher Demko was the equivalent of three first round selections, if Hart were really available on the market there's no doubt that he could fetch a similar return, especially at that age.
It'd be crazy to part ways with such a young and talented netminder, but IF the Flyers were to ship him off. Who should pick up the phone and inquire?
